There's actually a lot of japanese restaurant in KK. But one of my favourite is Fukurou. Located in Damai, Opposite Vegas, and few blocks beside YoYo.

This is because some of the food can only be found in Fukurou. Like
Shake Mentai. It's like salmon with the mentai sauce on top of it. Mentai is actually cod roe. Taste bit salty, grilled and melting in your mouth. Woo~

Shake Mentai and Tuna Sushi

Edamame, the Long Beans. This is my first time trying it (shame to say ya I know but just didn't came across my mind sometimes) after being persuaded by my colleague. And it's really good. They sprinkled salt on it. *Slurp* It makes you kept wanna bite and chew it non-stop.

Fukurou always have a lot of promotions from time to time for their lunch menu and also dinner menu. And you can get more discounts if you're a member. Some more, they'll keep you updated with their promotions through SMS. If not mistaken, I think you just need to pay RM10 for the member card. And their discounts are always like 10% + 5% + blah blah blah for members only. Basically, I don't remember how it works. But maybe something like, 10% off from your main dish, and another 5% if you're ordering the sushi.

The discounts usually vary from type to types like ala carte, set menu, side dishes, sushi and etc. Below is the Idako (Baby Octopus).

Here is the
Cha Soba, one of the thing I like to eat in a japanese restaurant. Do you know how to eat Cha Soba in a right way? Prolly everyone knows the right way but just to state it here, who knows there're still some people out there who's unsure of the right way of eating cha soba.
First, mix the bird egg and wasabi into the sauce together, stir it, and dip your cha soba into the sauce and lastly, feast on it. Normally, I prefer the more Wasabi the better. So you've got a feelin'!

Why I stressed on the procedure of eating it? Because I had a bad experience dealing with it when I was like 13 years old or a almost a decade ago, *sigh old*, whom my dearie Casandra got addicted to japanese food. Therefore, she peer-pressured me to hung out with her in the japanese restaurant almost @##%*!$ every weekend for her raw salmon and etc, when we're suppose to be wearing thick glasses and holding thick books. One day, she decided to try out the cha soba as I think she saw some internet stuffs about it maybe, got influenced by some cha soba articles and kept talking about it. So we ordered our first cha soba.

When Cha Soba came, we were excited as it was our first time feasting the so-called japanese noodle (however its made in Malaysia most prolly). There it was served to us something similar to the cha soba pic above. But we're confused at the same time too, that's because there's this sauce, the bird egg, AND the wasabi. What should we do with so many things on the palate?! So as usual like eating Ngau Chap, you pour your chilli in, soya sauce and whatever you can find on the table, we then poured ALL the sauce onto the noodle. And all of the sauce dripped down below into the bamboo mat where the noodle stayed still on top of it. =x It's like distilling your noodle with the sauce, and the egg+wasabi remained beautifully as they were before on their spots. Instantly, our embarrassing and shameful moment were spotted by the waiter in the outlet, and therefore we were guided. But it's too late, the restaurant won't replace a new one for these poor little two kids despite their pitiness and disappointed faces. So I don't remember how did the cha soba ended. =S End of story.

One of the special thing in Fukurou is the ChawanMushi (steamed tea cup egg). Unlike any other japanese restaurants, Fukurou's ChawanMushi comes in varieties and is totally different from the usual one that comes with the set menu in other japanese restaurants. Honestly, I'm not into ChawanMushi, and everytime there's one in my set menu, I tend to give it to my friends who likes to eat it, like Casandra. But when I tried Fukurou's Chawanmushi, because I was curious of its variety of chawanmushis shown in the menu. So I picked this Chawanmushi with Mushroom. And to my surprise, it has changed my perceptive towards ChawanMushi, but only if it's from Fukurou. Haven't found another one that I can accept.

This Takoyaki, I don't wanna lie to you all so I wanna say, it doesn't taste good to me. You'll feel more flour than the real thing when you're chewing it.
Mix Fried Vegetables
And this I dunno whats it called but with fish eggs inside the fried mini fish.

Lastly, they'll always have the dessert for you. And today, it's green pudding. And the color changes everyday. I remembered having purple and yellow pudding. How nice if it's Green Tea Ice Cream as dessert.

This is Fukurou's Member card. Sometimes, if you forgot to bring your card, don't worry, you can still get discounts by giving them your name or your member card number. Therefore, I've already shown you my number, try mention the number if you're dining there. They might not realise the customer's faces and names right? (0746). The card originally carries 10% discount off from your total bill amaount.
But as Malaysian citizens, we must be truthful to ourselves. Therefore, try use the number first. If can't, then only you apply a card for own use. Haha! Well, the card looks cute though with the owl signature logo of fukurou. So why not just apply it and keep it cute in your wallet.
